STAND IN STRENGTH by BILL BURNS

Standing in strength means to stand in a position of faith and trust in the Lord, and to be full of the Holy Spirit, and thus, His power (anointing). Be strong!

Ephesians 6:10-13 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Standing denotes a place of readiness, a place of strength in the Lord; ready for war against Satan and his minions.

Ephesians 6:14-18 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

STAND

1. Stand in truth

John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:43 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Standing denotes a place of readiness, a place of strength in the Lord; ready for war against Satan and his minions.

2. Put on righteousness.

The righteousness we have in Christ Jesus when He covers our sins with His blood.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

3. Maintain peace with God.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Ephesians 4:1-3 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Let the peace of God rule in your heart.

4. Take up the shield of faith.

Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Faith in God and in His word will destroy the lies of Satan!

5. Put on the helmet of salvation.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Keep your thoughts under the rule of God's Word

6. The Word of God.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

7. Pray!

Matthew 21:22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.

These seven things will become the armor of God that you wear. This armor enables you to stand in a place of security in the Lord and protected from the wiles (schemes) of Satan.

Live in victory! You are standing in strength, God's strength.
