Over the past couple of months it has been more difficult to hear God in seeking for a Small Straws word.  I could no longer find Him where I was accustomed to do so, and I examined myself and finished up repenting and asking forgiveness for sin both by commission and omission.  I forgave anyone who had spoken against me or cursed me.  Still the Lord seemed further away, more distant.  I had to reach higher somehow, but when I did, I was able to find Him and hear Him again.

Additionally, I have been aware that the spiritual atmosphere is relatively static and silent.  I am often conscious of angelic activity, and their presence seems to be at least greatly diminished if not lacking altogether.  This is ominous and troubling to me, so I began to seek the Lord for understanding, and I heard the words, "Holy Hush."

Why would there be a Holy Hush or a time of silence?

Often there is a time of silence just before or after a storm.

1 Kings 19:11-12  11 Then He said, "Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord." And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.

Silence can precede judgment or some other mighty move of God in which case we all need to separate ourselves from evil.

Revelation 8:1  And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

Zechariah 2:13  Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for He is aroused from His holy habitation.

This silence could be a test to see who will seek, find, and follow Him, wherever He goes.

Acts 17:26-28  And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, "For we are also His offspring."

I believe we are in a time of separation that will result in refinement and purification.

2 Corinthians 6:17  Therefore "Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord.  Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you."

Zechariah 13:9  I will bring the one-third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested.  They will call on My name, and I will answer them.  I will say, "This is My people" and each one will say, "The Lord is my God."

We are in a season of preparation and transition into unprecedented historic events.

1 Corinthians 2:9  But as it is written:  "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him."

This is my attempt to identify the Holy Hush that we are experiencing, but one thing I know for sure is that our Lord Jesus Christ will never leave us nor forsake us.
