Neo,

Here is some advice... Look for the language of God. He is always broadcasting in everything around you. One of the most important lessons of all the journey is to learn to hear the voice of God for your life and circumstances. The children of Israel refused to hear the voice of God for themselves, requiring Moses to hear God for them, and thus were not properly prepared to enter the Promised Land. They of course did not enter at the time of Tabernacles, but entered 40 years later at the time of Passover. This is much like the church today that fails to enter the rest.

The principle of witness is how we establish every matter. The spirit brings a witness to the things he is saying, and he only says what He hears the Father saying. Without allowing the Spirit to teach you these things, you become very susceptible to struggle and delay. Looking for a word from others will most likely subject you to the soul of man. I know of no mature prophet that would give you a word in this fashion..... but hey, there is always a first time I guess...God can do anything and He often does...

From my own personal experience it is not safe to induce a prophetic word from man. We are too flawed and limited in our understanding of the deepness of God. In my journey with Christ I've learned, and still learning, that His method of communication is always the Word. He would never speak differently or seperately from the Word. Whatever prophetic words given must always take you back to the Word otherwise it is not from God. Being in one accord is very important. The Spirit can deliver one Word but it can have so many meanings to different people in different places based upon what they are going through and where they are with the Lord. When my husband and I receive the Burns' daily prophetic words, we relate differently to it becuase we are in different spiritual processes but in one accord becuase we know it is for the purpose for God to be glorified as He builds us up in the Word. The Burns' prophetic Word from the Lord really helps us to search our sinful heart and mind and equips us to be still, test the spirits, seek HIm to elaborate what His concern are towards our walk with Him and what or how He wants us to deal with it so that we can become more Christlike in every fiber of our being and continue in the work He purposed for us to do in Him.

I always read through all the Prophetic Insight posts here and seek the Lord to discern what He is speaking to His people and I'm always amazed that everyone is in one accord with the Spirit...well at least some, but the message is always the same: Christ is with us, He loves us, and He knows the plans He has for us but we need to make the effort to seek Him in His Word, apply the Word, live the Word, pray the Word, preach the Word, sing the Word, manifest the Word in our works, lifestyle, demeanor, attitude, mindset, speech- for He is the Living Word that never returns void.

So in a nutshell, be still, seek God in His Word, seek Him in prayer to open the Word to you, don't look at your circumstances or situations (that's one of my biggest stumbling blocks), look at what God is trying to do in your life to mold you into Christlikeness and be a fisher of man. God is always speaking, it's just a matter of being in the right spiritual posture to hear Him....and if we still can't hear Him then repentance is a great ear cleanser....

I will pray that the Lord, in whichever method (radio, book, friend, etc) to manifest a rhema Word that will draw you deeper in Him in the Word and give you peace. He is faithful.

I would have to agree.

Every time I have been deceived by someone, (and there has been many many times) it can be traced back to a lack of understanding of the word. I have recently concluded that most of our struggles as a body is a result of being word poor. That's ok though.... we don't know what we don't know. In many cases we are the first generation starting over again, learning the ways of the Lord. Much grace has been upon us to learn and to follow and to recover from our stumblings, and most of all, to repent of nasty religion.
