The Trumpet by Bill Burns: The instruction to the Church at this time is to get past unbelief. This is a new era, and we must get over disappointment. There is a prevailing sense of unbelief because of disappointment and unanswered prayer. Things that many of us expected to happen didn't. This unbelief must be dealt with before we can receive the rain of this season. God wants us to interact on a new level; not just prayer, but spiritual interaction. The invitation is to move to a new spiritual plateau. The Lord will show us the prophetic implications of the times and seasons. Everything we've been taught was for the purpose of bringing us to prophetic reality, and the anointing will come to produce that prophetic reality in us.

What is the Lord saying?
1. This is a work of the enemy against God’s people.
2. Disappointment will produce unbelief.
3. We must get past disappointment if we want to progress.
4. God is producing prophetic reality in us.

Unbelief
Hebrews 3:12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.
Romans 3:3 For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect?
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God

Getting Past Disappointment
Exercise your will to change your focus and outlook. This is a choice!
· In everyone’s life, there will be triumphs and downfalls – ups and downs.
· You cannot avoid disappointment, but you don’t have to let it control your life.
· When disappointment comes along, don’t worry about it; stress makes it worse.
· You can either let disappointment rule, or you can triumph over it.
· Refuse to see the glass half-full and begin to see it half-empty – only looking at the negatives will blow your trouble out of proportion; look at the positive things as well. Count your blessings!

Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy––meditate on these things.
2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

Prophetic Reality
What is prophetic reality? It is NOT fantasy or even hope. It is a true word of God untouched by your mind, emotions or will.

We cannot touch the heart of God or hear His voice when we are mired in disappointment, because when disappointment rules, everything is colored and distorted by that emotion.

Prophetic reality only comes when we are able to rise up in the Spirit.

Hearing God
How can we tell if God is really speaking to us?
There are only three voices that we can hear: God, the devil, or ourselves.

Your own voice will be born out of what you want to hear according to your desires, fantasies, and imagination. It will spring from your soul.

The devil’s voice will almost always produce confusion, condemnation, and pressure, and will never bring you to a place of peace.

The voice of the Lord will always bring peace, and you will know that the word did not originate with you.

The more you practice, the more you will be able to differentiate between these three.

Hearing God's 'Still Small' voice........when you least expect it. Over the years, the Lord has spoken to me so often in His word but then there are times when he interupts your thoughts with HIS.....with that very still, small voice.

I had an experience yesterday that's a good example.........actually I have to begin with Sunday afternoon. I had taken $50 out of the bank before my husband and I went to the FSU/VT basketball game. On the way home from the game we, (actually me :>) ) decided that we'd go into the ice cream store and get an ice cream cone or something. On the way into the shopping center, there was a young girl with a sign, standing at the entrance on the main highway. The sign said" traveling......hungry". As we passed, I thought...here I am...going in to feed my face and there she is...hungry. I didn't enjoy the ice cream much. On the way out I told my husband to stop so I could give her some money. I had a ten so that's what I gave her.......always hoping that it's spent for food and not drugs. So, Monday....on my way into Wal-Mart, there were two young women, standing at the main entrance to the parking lot with their dog.....holding a sign...."traveling.....hungry...anything will help".....So, I thought....well...I'll go in and get what I came for and pick up a couple of bottles of cold water, get change for one of the twenties and give them some water and a ten on the way out. I did my shopping, went to the car and ..........darn...I forgot the water and change. "WEll....I'll just move the car closer to the front, go in and get the water and".....then I heard " ALL that you have"....hmmmmmm....." ALL that you have"....hmmmmm ( I didn't even get to the part where I was going to tell my self to get the change)........again " ALL that you have"....."you mean both twenties Lord?"........"All that you have". I did get the message but it was so soft and soooo subtle. SOOOOOOO out came the two twenties and on the way out of the parking lot I stopped and gave the girls the money. I told them that I hoped they got to where they were going and blessed them. They were so excited but I didn't look back......I had total peace......Actually, I had to laugh. Had I not obeyed, I wouldn't have had any peace at all. I think the Lord would have been ok with that but everyime I see a homeless person it's like I hear the Lord say " Even as you do unto these, the least of my brethren..so you do unto me"...I know sometimes they might us e it for drugs or alcohol but then that's something they have to deal with...I always pray that they do the right thing. The only reason I wanted to share this was 1. the very still small voice of God and 2. the peace. Also, what I've learned through the years is that about the time you think you're going to finish a thought..God does it for you. :>)

Don't ya just love the way the Lord gets your attention!

Sandy :>)

Thanks, Sandy. I appreciate your testimony. God is awesome!

I remember a number of years ago a man came to church early on a Sunday morning wanting money. We prayed for him and when Bill touched him, he fell forward and almost took me down with him (that's when I learned to WATCH and pray). And, every time Bill said "Jesus" his body convulsed. When he could finally get up, he stayed for the service, and we gave him the money he asked for to catch the bus.

In the middle of the night (about 2:30 a.m.), the phone rang. It was a Kremmling policeman. This man, Albert, had used our money to go to the bar and get drunk. He was going to be taken to jail unless we paid for a room for him to stay in. I was lying in bed listening to Bill on the phone and in my heart I was saying, "Take the jerk to jail; he deserves it!" But, to my utter surprise Bill said we would pay for the room, and then he called the hotel and made arrangements. I was ashamed of my hard-heartedness and was moved by God's mercy when He spoke to Bill in that still, small voice.

About a year later, on a Thursday, I had taught a Bible Study that morning, and everyone had gone home. I had some work to do before I could leave, and Albert walked into the church. He was grateful that he had been given another chance. He said he had never been in a church where he had actually seen the power of God and sensed His presence. He was compelled to come back because of the Holy Spirit conviction that he needed to know the Lord. I prayed for him and led him to Christ before I went home that day. :D

Can't begin to tell you how encouraging these two testimonies are to me. As I've been reading through them, and I admit laughing at how God "intervened" with you Sandy - He has such a great sense of humour, and how honest you are Marsha in revealing your initial heart reaction, His anointing has been falling on me.

Lord I appreciate the lessons I have learned this morning through these two testimonies. Thank You that You do really care and thank You for showing me.

Hearing the voice of God is an inside job. We have to make our emotions and minds be quiet, and sometimes that takes practice. The word "rest" in the Bible means to be quiet and calm, or basically to shut up. We can't rise up in the Spirit until we learn to quiet our souls and focus on the Lord. It is an act of our will. This is one of my favorite scriptures:

Psalms 131:2 Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.

What an amazing testimony of how one kind act, one word, one smile can change the world. We never know the impact we can make, the depth of the lives that have been changed as we obey the move of the spirit. I pray God's continued love and favor rest upon all of you. Yes, our king is mighty, precious, holy and all powerful! Hallelujah is not big enough..most excellent, thank you!
