CONTINUUM—September 21, 2017—Marsha Burns:

It is now “sundown” as I preach this message and the second day of the Feast of Trumpets 2017.  This is the beginning of a new spiritual year.

Just because it is Rosh Hashanah or the “head of the year”, doesn’t mean that everything that God is showing us is new or confined to this year.  It is a “Continuum”, which means the coherent whole characterized as a sequence or progression rather than a singular event.  It is something that keeps on going and changing slowly over time.

When we believe that what God gives us in a new season will come to pass within that year and it doesn’t, we finish up feeling discouraged or even hopeless.  So, we need to see the new season as part of a long-term sequence or progression.  I’ve been hearing the song, “The Long And Winding Road” in my spirit.

We are set on the path of life; there are no breaks in it.  It is a continuum.  We are here to experience and demonstrate the knowledge of good and evil.

Small Straws:  The power of evil produces chaos and destruction.  I speak to you, My people, to rise up out of the throes of destructive cycles that keep you in agony and suffering.  Redirect your efforts to resist darkness and evil.  You already know the difference between good and evil.  Choose good in your heart and follow through with goodness in your behavior and actions, says the Lord.  Your life depends on that decision. Hebrews 5:14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

The spiritual atmosphere, as I have discerned it, has changed.  It seems like we are finally coming out of spiritual Jell-O.  We have been hindered for the better part of a year.  Everything has been more difficult than it should be.  But, we are on the path to renewed freedom.

Simplify and Fortify:  (excerpts from December 31, 2015 message)

Our progression will require our undivided attention to stay on course.  In a vision I saw a man making his way up a very steep mountain to reach the place where he would build his house.  As he ascended, he got tangled in vines and weeds that hindered his upward progression.  And, I heard the Lord say, “I am taking you, My people, to a new dwelling place in the Spirit.  It is higher than you have ever been.  However, the enemy will try to prevent your progression.  You must resist the temptations that entangle you and keep you from you destination.”

“I have opened a path before you that will enable you to maneuver through hindrances and difficulties that you have endured for quite some time.  You will be able to experience a new level of freedom that has been almost impossible to attain.  You cannot do this on your own, but with My help and guidance you will be able to move on, says the Lord. Prepare for breakthrough.”

Wow!  That was the story of my life the entire past year. Circumstances arose that required major changes in the way I do business, and I was hindered at every turn, but in the end, those changes (that I would not have considered otherwise) resulted in simplicity and fortification.

In a vision I saw an open-cockpit airplane towing a banner that read, “Jeremiah 29:11”.

Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

This was a word from the Lord to the Israelites just before the Babylonian captivity.  Then, I thought of Ezra and Nehemiah rebuilding the temple and the wall after the captivity was over.  I believe we have been in a time of captivity to the effects of evil in world events, but that we are emerging into a place of spiritual peace.

Speaking of hope, I saw a rainbow from my office window and it lasted fifty-three minutes.  The next day, I saw another rainbow in the same spot and then another rainbow appeared to the left of that one to form a double rainbow.  I believe that was confirmation of the importance of the 53-minute rainbow.

I also believe that the number 53 is significant:

Five=Father, Son, Spirit, Creation, Redemption.  It is the number of Grace and Favor.

Three=divine perfection; there is nothing real in or of man.  Perfection comes from God.

Eight=Abundance, the first of a new series or a new beginning.

Psalm 53

1  The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; there is none who does good.

2  God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God.

3  Every one of them has turned aside; they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one.

4  Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God?

5  There they are in great fear where no fear was, for God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you; you have put them to shame, because God has despised them.

6  Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God brings back the captivity of His people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.

Things that will continue...

Spiritual Identity:

“You will develop your personal identity with greater precision, and express yourself more completely apart from outside influences.  You will know who you really are—who you are in Me and who I am in you, says the Lord.”

God has called us to become the most authentic version of ourselves that we can possibly be.  We need to be who we really are without façade or pretense.

In a recent vision I saw an old-time barn with the loft full of hay and horses feeding down below.  And, following that vision I saw a boy fishing from the bank of a small river.

Both of these visions spoke to me of a simpler, more peaceful, and wholesome time; a time when people were more isolated from world chaos—no television or radio, no computers or cell phones.  And, I believe the Lord was showing me that we have to isolate or at least insulate ourselves from things in our lives that create fear, tension, or conflict so that we can achieve inner peace and peace with others.

Word from God:  “You want to get to your destination without conflict, so you have to avoid people in chaos and those who have conflicting ideals and motives.  You can remember the past days of ministry and the beatings you took and the suffering you endured.  It was harder to stay in the Spirit then than it is now.  You have paid the price and have found a better way that does not include being drawn into other people’s trouble or sin.”

Divine Order:

Divine order will be the order of the Day until the end of humanity.

What is divine order?  It is to be directed by God.  Chaos and crisis reveal the places in our lives where we are still out of order.

Divine order is to live in covenant power—right standing with God.  It is all about His work and our cooperation in yielding to His will.

Philippians 2:13  For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Divine order is trusting God to give us discernment, to lead, guide, direct, protect and give us wisdom.  It is to stay in the flow of the Spirit.

Psalm 138:8  The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands.

Internal Work:

Perhaps the most important work in our lives has been “internal work”.  The Lord has been showing us those places in us that need to be dealt with and brought from natural expression to supernatural power.

Many times, we find ourselves putting extraordinary emphasis on reading the Word instead of doing the Word (internally through obedience), praying aloud in prayer meetings instead of doing business with God in the Spirit, singing worship songs instead of truly worshiping God from our hearts.

This concept of Internal versus External is the difference between relationship with God through Christ in the Spirit and religious exercise.

Moving from external to internal will mean that we are serious about connecting with God and walking in the Spirit.  This is a choice, and the more we understand about the difference between external and internal--religious and spiritual—the better equipped we are to choose righteously.

What’s Next?  Opportunity!

Sign:  I saw a sunset that framed an opening like a door in the sky with the horizon being the threshold.  As that sky picture faded, I saw clouds in the formation of a beaver.

I believe this was a sign of opportunities ahead.  But, when I think of that nature of a beaver, I think of an animal that works really hard and relentlessly.  So, I believe that it will take hard work and steady concentration to go through that door to access those opportunities.

Conclusion:

The fabric of this season is to begin again, to move on, and to be free.

God has given us a hope and a future filled with grace, favor, divine perfection, and abundance.

We will continue to simplify our lives, which will bring greater strength and security as we insulate ourselves from evil.

We will continue to live in Divine order as we seek to remain in the flow of the Spirit.

Internal work will continue to liberate us from the flesh.

And, new opportunities will present themselves resulting in spiritual growth if we stay true to God and to the best version of ourselves.

We recognize that we are nothing, we know nothing, we do nothing, and we have nothing apart from our Lord.  And, we are grateful!

Amen!
