Over the past few years several prophetic words have come forth regarding the civil war that is about to be fought in the Church.  The historical Civil War that was fought in America was about slavery.  This is the same issue that will perpetuate the civil war within the Church.  The slavery, spiritually speaking, is the bondage that false doctrine holds God’s people in.

Those who are held by the false doctrine that they have embraced are limited in their faith by that which they believe.  These deceptions can also lead one into presumption, which is sin, and motivate believers to promote wrong concepts within the Body of Christ.

The Lord intends for His people to have the opportunity to be set free from the bondage of doctrinal error.  A pure doctrine will then become the basis for strong faith, and this faith will produce great power in the Church.  This is why the Lord is at this time establishing the five-fold ministry in His kingdom.  He is now raising up true five-fold ministers and giving them as gifts to the Body of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-15  And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,  for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,  till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;  that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head; Christ.

This passage of scripture establishes the purpose of the five-fold ministry.  This purpose is for God’s ministers to establish the truth so that His people are no longer deceived by false doctrine.  This will produce a unity of faith that will bring the Church into the maturity of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Many of the so-called five-fold ministers of today do not believe in the importance of establishing a pure doctrine.  These people would rather not upset the proverbial apple cart.  They would rather compromise this purpose of the five-fold for the sake of a pseudo-unity.  They don’t want to create controversy because their platforms, ministry opportunities, and followers might diminish.

This is why the civil war in the Church must and will take place.  The true five-fold ministers of God will not be men pleasers.  They will not compromise the truth in order to avoid controversy.

The Third Day Church

There are those who object to the use of the term “third day.”  They believe that it establishes lines of division within the Body.  They believe that it is exclusive in nature and that it might alienate those who don’t understand the term.  This approach is potentially damaging to the Body of Christ.  The message of the Third Day identifies the purposes of this present visitation from God.  We do not want anyone to miss this visitation, so we must continue to use the terminology that awakens us to what God is now doing.

The purpose of God is identified in:
Hosea 6:1-3  Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.  After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight.  Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth.

This scripture tells us that after two thousand years (from the birth of Christ) the Lord of Glory will first revive (restore) His Church.  He will do this by coming to us as the former and latter (double portion) rain of the Spirit here on earth.  His purpose is to restore His Church to the original pattern for the Church as outlined in the Book of Acts.  As we pursue the knowledge of the Lord and His purposes for this time period, we will receive power from on high to accomplish His purposes.

Once we have fulfilled God’s purposes for the end of the age, He will lift (catch away) His glorious Church so that we may always live in His sight.  Both the restoration and catching away (rapture) are identified in this scripture and occur on the Third Day.  The lifting up (rapture) of the Church will be the third-day sign, which is one of resurrection power.

There will be those who pervert the third-day message, and there will be those who will use “third day” to promote themselves and their ministries.  Nevertheless, we must not stop preaching the message, even though the enemy is sowing some tares in the ground of this day.  It is imperative that people receive this revelation so they can position themselves by faith to receive the rains of this time.  The rain of the Spirit will impart the great grace of God, which will impart the power of the Spirit to those who desire to be used for His purposes in this, the Day of the Lord.

The House of David

The third-day message heralds the rebuilding of the Tabernacle of David (Acts 15:14-17).  The time of the fullness of this revelation takes place just prior to the fullness of the Gentiles (Romans 11:25).  This time period is upon us now as the last of the Gentile harvest is being gathered into the Church.

Mount Zion (Hebrews 12:22) is the spiritual location of the Tabernacle of David.  The Lord Jesus Christ is ruling over this habitation from the throne of David (Isaiah 9:7).  Jesus is ruling over the House of David, which incorporates and uses the following terms in definition:  Church of the Firstborn, Zion, Tabernacle of David, and Third-Day Habitation.

The Civil War

The type and shadow of the civil war in the Church is found in scripture as the conflict between the house of David and the house of Saul.  The birthing of the Third Day Church can be prophetically likened to David’s rule over Judah in Hebron.  2 Samuel chapter two tells us that David was anointed king over the House of Judah and that only the tribe of Judah followed David at that time.  This is also true in the Church.  Only a remnant has embraced the rule of Christ as it applies to this present visitation.

The prophetic type of the civil war is revealed in:
2 Samuel 3:1  Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David. But David grew stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.

Eventually many of those who are currently in opposition to what God is doing now will unite and come in even as Israel came to the house of David.

2 Samuel 5:1-3  Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and spoke, saying, "Indeed we are your bone and your flesh.  Also, in time past, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them in; and the LORD said to you, 'You shall shepherd My people Israel, and be ruler over Israel.'"  Therefore all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the LORD. And they anointed David king over Israel.

The house of David and the house of Saul as they relate to the civil war can be identified by the nature and character of David and Saul.  Saul wanted to do things his way rather than doing things God’s way.  Saul did not obey the voice of the prophet Samuel.  Saul violated the commandment of God with regard to the order of spiritual things.  Saul offered a sacrifice that only God’s priest was allowed to do (see 1 Samuel chapter 13).  In chapter 15 of 1 Samuel, Saul disobeyed God again by not destroying Agag and the livestock of the Amalekites.  Samuel rebuked Saul.

1 Samuel 15:28-30  So Samuel said to him, "The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.  And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man, that He should relent."  Then he said, "I have sinned; yet honor me now, please, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD your God."

In this scripture we see the heart of Saul revealed.  He wanted to be honored.  He wanted to have the praise of men.  He wanted the glory for himself.  Saul had a good beginning; he was chosen and anointed by God to be king, but he got into self-promotion.  This will also be the reason for the fall of some who received the revelation of the Third Day, but got into self-promotion with it.

David also got into trouble by violating God’s spiritual order.  This transgression occurred when David decided to move the Ark of God on an ox cart.  The order of God dictated that the Ark could only be moved on the shoulders of the priests.

This is, again, a type of transgression that will occur with the third-day message.  Some will try to move it according to their own methods and agendas, and their efforts will fail even as David’s first attempt to bring the Ark to Jerusalem did.  Unlike Saul, David had a heart after God, and then honored God’s order in the handling of spiritual things.  David brought the Ark to Jerusalem on the shoulders of the priests.

Those who have a heart after God will honor God’s order and give Him the glory.  They will not try to do it man’s way, and the glory of God will rest upon their assemblies.  God will honor them because they will honor God and do only that which they are led by the Holy Spirit to do.  They will not compromise the Word of the Lord.  They will do only the will of God, and they will know the true doctrine of Christ.  The civil war will rage because Jesus has not come to bring peace, but a sword to separate those who are His from those who are not.

The house of David will grow stronger and stronger, and many who are now in bondage to the doctrines of the Saul’s of this age will join the house of David.  They will be emancipated from the slavery of religion, and they will come to Jesus and ask Him to be their King and Lord.  They will ask for the rain of the Spirit that breaks the yoke of bondage.  And, Jesus will restore them and rule over them from the Throne of David forevermore!
